My research focuses on the growth and development of Tamil hip hop, its modes of production and distribution, its lyrical themes and language, its social, cultural, and economic significance within various diasporic communities, as well as the musical and social networks that connect Tamils globally (Malaysia, India, Ilangai, UK, Canada, Switzerland etc). I am creating this blog in order to keep you informed of what I am doing/thinking, and also as a way of soliciting your feedback and responses to specific questions that I may have during the forthcoming months.
